Volunteers are often the first contact the public makes at the Indian Market.  For this reason alone, we appreciate the warm greeting and assistance that 200+ volunteers provide during this major cultural event. 

The Pueblo Grande Museum is an archaeological site and therefore has deep roots to the land, water and the early inhabitants.  We are anxious to share the history and culture that once inhabited our wondrous desert lands.  Everyone who attends the Indian Market is cordially invited to enjoy free admission to the museum for this very special weekend.    

Many of our volunteers return year after year to see old friends and make new ones.  The spirit of the holiday is felt throughout the two-day market and we welcome you to join us. If you would like to be a part of our big circle, complete the Volunteer Form and plan to be with us at the 35th annual Indian Market on December 10-11, 2011.

Admissions – Volunteers sell admission tickets to public.
Requirements – sitting, good math skills and smile.

Appreciation Party - Volunteers-help set up tables, chairs, food and other needed items
Requirements - standing, walking and lifting.

Artist Check-in – Volunteers will greet, hand out badges, and information to artist. Shifts are Friday 12 noon – 5 PM; Early Saturday morning beginning at 7 AM.
Requirements - Standing, walking, and smile.

Auxiliary Booth – Volunteers sell items such as t-shirts and tumblers.
Requirements -standing, sitting, lifting and good math skills.

Beverages -Volunteers-sell cold beverages.
Requirements – standing, sitting, lifting and good math skills.

Booth Sitters – Volunteers will watch artist booth so they can step away for a short time. Volunteers not allowed to sell art while artist is away.
Requirements - walking and sitting and able to carry a light sign.

Entertainment – Assists the Chairperson by greet performers, show where dressing room is located and arranges to have water available for them.

Exit Survey – Invites public to complete a brief, one-page survey as they prepare to leave market area. Requirements – Standing, sitting and collecting completed forms.

First Aid –Volunteers must be able to assist in medical situations.
Requirements-Certified in CPR and knowledgeable about handling medical situations.

Greeter – Will smile and greet the public whether they are just arriving or leaving. Must be cordial and possess excellent communication skills.
Requirement – Standing.

Ground Operations - Volunteers-.help before, during and after market with set up and tear down.
Requirements- standing, walking, lifting. Assistants may help 2 days before market and a day after market.

Hospitality - Volunteers help with distribution of snacks and beverages to artists and volunteers.
Requirements - standing, walking, lifting and sorting.

Information - distributes maps and assists public with directions and information.
Requirements- sitting, standing, walking and a smile.

Marketing - Works with media representative on publicity and promotions.
Requirements - knowledge of advertising and publicity techniques. Good writing and verb skills.

Membership - sells Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary memberships.
Requirements-sitting and standing

Parking – Assist public by directing to available parking spaces.
Requirements-standing and walking, picking up litter and a smile.

Raffle Collections – Volunteers solicit art donation from the artists. Volunteers responsible for issuing receipts to artists and delivering donated items to raffle collections booth.
Requirements- walking, standing and smile.

Raffle Sales - Volunteers-sell raffle tickets, record and post winners. Individual needed to enter winner information on computer database for each shift.
Requirements- standing, walking and good math skills.

Security - Volunteers- walk grounds and report any problems to on-site police officers or security. Operate a two-way radio.
Requirements-walking, standing and ability to reasonably handle problems.

Van Drivers- Licensed drivers to operate 15-passenger van. May need to assist passengers on and off van. Makes circular loops to pick up and drop off passengers from parking garage to event entrance.
Requirements- sitting, standing, good driving record and a smile.
