35th Annual Pueblo Grande Museum Indian Market
Saturday, December 10, 2011 9:30am – 5pm
Sunday, December 11 9:30am – 4pm

Come visit the Pueblo Grande Museum Indian Market. Enjoy children's activities, outstanding Native American entertainment, good food and great (buy real American) shopping. Collecting Native American fine art? With over 150 artists to choose from we have some of the best with prices ranging from $10 to $5000. Then feast on a variety of Native American foods from various venders.

Enjoy special performances by Five-time World Hoop Dance Champion Derrick Suwaima Davis, award winning violinist Arvel Bird, and the lively sounds of Southern Scratch.
Special guests this year are our demonstrators who will be available to meet with the public to teach and demonstrate their crafts. These award winning artists include:

  • Royce Manuel (Salt River Pima/Maricopa) will be making traditional, functional bows and arrows from natural materials found in the Arizona Sonoran area.
  • Jessica Lomatewama (Hopi) constructs Third Mesa wicker baskets which are used as exchange gifts during social dances and thank you gift to those helping with weddings.
  • Lorraine Herder (Navajo) demonstrates steps of turning Churro (sheep) raw wool into dyed yarn. The demonstration includes hand carding and using lap spindle to spin yarn.
  • Shirley A. Molina (Tohono O'odham) and Jess Moreno (mother and son) are fourth and fifth generation basket weavers.
  • Jackson Harris with Sun House Alliance will coordinate a show of Native American fashion designers. (Sunday only)

Visit the Military exhibit which honors the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and tour museum which is included with market admission.

Visitors are encouraged to use the METRO Light Rail's 44th Street and Washington stop an easy walking distance of the event site.

Admission is $5 per person and children under 12 are free.

The Pueblo Grande Museum's address is 4619 E. Washington Street, Phoenix.
Free public parking is available at the lot on the north side of Washington Street.
The event will take place rain or shine.

Q: Is there a charge for parking?

A: No. There will be accommodations for handicapped parking; please request assistance from our parking committee volunteers when you arrive.

A: Your family and friends as well as an appetite for delicious Native American foods.  Don’t forget your wallet or purse, and a desire to browse amongst the various artists’ booths.  Also, open eyes and ears for enjoying authentic traditional and contemporary Native American singers, dancers and musicians.
